Bill and Joan...
Sometimes there can be too much said about a simple thing... I've seen
folks go gnarly over too many posts on a given topic. (Not necessarily
here, in this gentile group) Let me just say I came across a simple
absolute fix for this particular issue, if all other solutions (including
my earlier post and/or ignoring it, don't work for you).
It envolves cutting the brown wire going to the idiot lamp. Insert a 25
cent Radio Shack diode in the line in any direction. Turn on the
ignition to test. If the light comes on, you're done, just start the
coach and watch the light go out. If the lamp does not come on with the
ignition, reverse the diode (end for end) and you're done. Get a Radio
Shack part number 276-1102 or similar.
The only catch is, you have to buy a pack of two diodes and the pack is
about twice as much! So the good news is, you'll have one spare diode to
get your GMC buddy's last beer with.
