What is a replacement oil pressure switch for the Onan?

NAPA # OP6074 It replaces OE on several 80 ish GM vehicles and a 90 ish
Geo. Normally closed. Opens 3 - 8 psi (Byron Maxwell)
Borg Warner Oil Pressure Switch with a part number S310 costs $5.00.
(Richard Waters)

I don't have experience with putting on timing chain set yet, but I'd be
surprised if I had to drop all those oil pans. Check out Heinz' page at:

Since my name in included in this post I thought I would
share with all of you an experience that happened to my
neighbor a few months ago.

He's the original owner of a 1973 23' Canyon Lands.
He noticed some oil under his 4KW Onan and knowing of
my experience with my Onan decided to replace the oil pressure
switch. At my direction, he went to the local parts supply and
purchased what he thought was a Borg Warner Oil Pressure
Switch with the part number S310. He got it home and
discovered that it was not the same as the one I bought! He
took it back to the parts place and they did some checking
and discovered that the part number was correct, but that
somewhere along the line the wrong switch was put in the box.
They found another box with the correct switch in it and he took
it home and fixed his oil leak.

So the bottom line here is TAKE THE ORIGINAL SWITCH WITH
YOU TO THE PARTS STORE AND MAKE SURE THAT WHAT
THEY GIVE YOU IS THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL!
