Phil,
How right you are, I agree that Audiovox has taken the low road with regard
to their automotive sound systems. They also offer OEM look alike radios
that are not the highest of quality.
I worked in consumer electronics sales for Technics division for several
years after being on with the Panasonic division and can tell you that
Audiovox radios stink!
Audiovox is more of a marketing company and produces what sells to the
masses, they actually have the ability to produce very high quality
products, look at their GPS, video, DSS and other new tech. stuff.
Marketing is the game and filling your niche is how you win! I am not
pushing Audiovox as a quality brand, I have found though that their cruise
controls are simple to install and reliable.
Look at it this way, they are everywhere so if the darn thing dumps on you,
there are many places to get parts replaced at!
