I could not figure out how to post a direct link so I'll just tell you how to get there.

Laurie and I have some husband and wife friends from ham radio that we have not talked to in about 3 years. The Christmas card we mailed to them came
back last year undelivered. This year the same thing happened except the route carrier wrote "deceased" on it. This did not make sense to us because
both were over 20 years younger than us and the husband's parents were our friends. Laurie contacted the mother of the husband last week to find out
the story.

Any way the husband died of cancer and the wife died 7 months later in a house explosion.

If you want to see an explosion demolished home from the air, look at "google earth" and type in the following address: 2505 N. 1600 west,
Medaryville, IN

It is unbelievable.

another good example of why one should live each day as if it were the
last. Don't postpone stuff, or refrain from doing stuff, because it is
frowned upon.

Water heaters did not always require the T&P (pop-off) valves now mandated by state building codes. We were distributors for Watts valves back in the
70s when they sent out an alert flyer about a residential water heater thermal explosion in the DC area. The house was a typical, post-war wooden,

We have had a few home explosions here in Oregon over the last couple of
years since the legalization of Marijuana. It seems that users aren't
content with the THC content of the hybrid and cloned stuff, and are
extracting the essential oils from large quantities of the plants using a
process of butane gas and heat. Let's see, what could possibly go wrong
with this combination of "enhanced consiousness", butane, and open flames?
Not much left of the houses, contents, or occupants either for that
matter. I don't know, is it any great loss?

Almost 5 years ago, I was sitting in my home office, probably reading the GMCNET, when I heard a tremendous BOOM! It rattled the windows in my house.
Later that night on the news I heard that there had been a natural gas explosion in nearby Royal Oak, not more than 3 miles from my house.

I drove over there the next day to see what had happened. When I got close, I noticed many buildings on Woodward Ave. (the Dream Cruise Woodward)
with boarded up windows and doors. No doubt from the concussion from the explosion.

The street was a total mess. Looked like what you see on the news of bombings in the middle east.

Ken, I am really sorry for my insensitivity for the loss of your friends.
My bad. I too, lost some good friends this past year in an automobile
accident. It leaves a void in our lives that we can never fill. Again,
sorry for your loss.

Ken, Sorry for your loss.

The article says a propane leak is suspected. I guess that does hit closer to home on our GMCs

Nothing insensitive noted here.

I posted this only because I was shocked at the total devastation of this house. It was two story with basement. I was there a few years back
digging a base hole for a tower installation which was about 75 feet away from the house. I see from the satellite shot the even it was blow away.
I'll have to drive by there and see what it looks like 2.5 years later.
