A little challenge to the expert researchers in our group (Tranny fliud temps)

I'm running this trip with the thermostat installed in the tranny line.

The thermostat is "fixed" at 180 degrees (unfortunately).

I'm going to guess, based on an earlier run, that tranny pan temps will now
be 150 degrees instead of a 100 at level cruise.

The million dollar question(s)?

I expect that the fluid temp will be constant over a variety of driving
conditions versus fluctuations. So what's better? a constant temp of 150-ish
going into the tranny or a range/fluctuation of 100-200+.

I would've prefered an adjustable thermostat or one that is set lower but
have not been able to find one.

What did I install? The big cooler with fan from Permacool along with an
external filter and their thermostat.

I'll be collecting temps as I go to see if my thinking as to constant temp
is correct.

Have tried to find out from tranny folks, but no definitave answers except
that cooler is better, but what about too cool? ( I can't run it back
through rad for 'warming'). Is there such a thing as too cool for the tranny
fluid?

Thanks in advance for any additional light you may be able to shed on this.
