A& E 8500 awnings for GMC

Decided after a lot of hesitation to buy an A&E 8500 awning instead of a
Zip-dee. god it was hard even getting information on the zip-dee. Called the
factory and they gave me their preferrd dealer list here in New York and not
one of them it turned out had sold one for some time. I found that most
dealers are switching to either A&E or carefree.

I orderd it from surprisingly Camping world, they have a big sale going on
now. the 18' with special curved arms cost $510 including new rails and
shipping. Any comments or has anyone have comments.They have 15% off now
plus 10% for being in their presdents club.

If your going to install it yourself, I posted some info on how mine's
installed for another feller a while back. You can see it at:

We're real happy with ours. Haven't found anything to complain about on it.

Has anyone with an awning experienced water leaks where it is secured to the
roof of the coach??

For those who have installed their awning, did you use anything other than
sheet metal type screews to secure the awning to the roof of the coach??
