'76 Mystery Machine, we're new to RVs and GMCs, Kingston, Ontario

No, haven't really looked into it yet. I joined the Heritage Cruisers, so somebody in the club might have it, same for the wheel bearing tools.

I'm planning on joining them too if things ever open up again.

I have the bearing pulling setup from the GMC maintenance manual, and I also have the 2 piece clamshell puller setup, forget the name.... Actually my brother has them currently. He's pulling apart his front end and our dad is drilling the knuckles on a setup he made on his Bridgeport. Then on the spacers he's cutting a groove on his lathe and drilling radial holes for the grease to pass through. They have one side done, and one to go.

I just replaced my bearings last year so am not in a huge rush to zerk them but probably this summer though b/c dad's all set up, better do it before he forgets.

Burt, your coach is definitely a GMC finished coach. I believe I see a Power Level insignia. Is that true or is it an Electro Level? Electro Level is reported to start with VIN 166V100878, so just double checking.

Also, what color is the firewall?
It is a Power Level.
The firewall is yellow/beige.

Nice coach. You are Sheltie people too? We had the world's greatest dog ;-) , a Sheltie named Sheppy, who lived to be 15. Used to joke that our three kids (boy/girl/boy) were his littermates. Anyway, we are currently dog-less empty nesters almost to retirement. Have seriously discussed getting another Sheltie when Mama retires.

Your coach does look 90's, but very tasteful (IMO). I agree about using it for a year before major changes. Ours is a 1978 Eleganza II that had been cared for but was mostly original. So, we are doing a restomod - keep the basic 70's gold/brown, but update & modernize. We are also new to RVing. I was advised by a co-worker to look into the GMC, after seeing the owner support groups, original build quality (especially compared to new RV's), and parts availability, decided upon the GMC. This is a great resource.

Regards,
Pete P.
Thanks Pete. Yes, Shelties, as you know, are fantastic dogs. If they are the right breed for you, they can be great. Ours are kind of hooligans. We're thinking of getting another, or two. They're outside howling right now.

Like you we don't want to make it look too modern, more of a restomod of what's needed. I leave the styling and planning of interior up to my wife.
Now, if it can just stop with the rain and cold here I can get out and work on it.
