I'm going to look at a 1977 Kingsley the owner says has a 6.5 KW Onan. Were any of these original to the GMC, or just the 6 KW? Maybe this is an
Emerald but I don't know if those were factory installed back then. I asked if it was green, he said blue. Maybe the color could be debated LOL or
else it's not an original GMC genset. I'll ask him for a pic but I'd appreciate any knowledge of factory gensets other than the 4KW/6KW green Onans.

Thanks,
Ty

Ty,

TZE were fit with 4 & 6 Onans. By 1977 they were only fit with 6.0 Onans. (I have been told/read/learned.) Early on some had Kohlers. So, when you
find out what it really is, come back and tell us. To find out what it really is, you will have to get a good look (a picture is better) of the data
plate. What ever it is, it may be an expensive thing to deal with, but that should only be part of any negotiation. There are many things that could
be more of an issue.

I wish you the best.

Matt

If its 6.5 it's not original. They came with a 6.0.

Thanks Matt & Emery for the answers. I'm working on getting the TZE from the owner to check the registry for any additional info.

Emery, my relatives live in Frederick and I was there last summer for their 50th Anniversary. Bob & Cathy Dvorak. The Carbon Valley Recreation Center
is really a nice facility. The 77 Kingsley I'm looking at is in Avon.

Hey Ty,
We also have a 6.5 kW Onan in our GMC. If your Onan is a similar model to ours (Model No. 6.5NHDFB1L), the part numbers in these photos might be
helpful for routine maintenance items.

That unit ( 6.5) is not a RV unit.
Onan supplies RV units and also the Commercial.
Were a RV Onan Dealer so we know the difference, not that you cannot use
them.

All original Onan's were green. Even the new ones are Onan Green. Maybe a repaint? Look for data plate with model number. Or, post a photo. Someone
might just know the correct type/brand.

Probably a Emerald I had one in my Bounder years back they are good gennys but come with the same issues the power drawers do at least in my
adventures. carb issues, board etc. the good thing about them is parts are easier to find than the drawer units. but if you cant slide it out they can
be tough to get to things.
