Kwyatt,
These coaches are a reliable as anything else on the road. How reliable any one coach is has much more to do with the owner's attention than anything else. Before the plague, we routinely put in 6~7K miles in a season. The all time great for us was a 11,800 year, but doing all that we did break a drawer guide. (I bought a small C-clap and mixed some epoxy and we were good a day later.) We don't have HEI, but if we did I would just carry the kit. The problem is that you have not been reading either of these forums long enough to get some of the big long and wonderful trip reports.
If all we wrote were about the trips that went well, it would get boring real fast.
Yes, most of the time we do talk about maintenance and repairs. Maintenance because it is an ongoing task, these are 50yo high mileage (some) vehicles. Repairs we talk about just to help other owners understand what has to happen.
I have a '95 Accord that has lost its cruise control. I was told that this is common, but nobody has told me how to fix it.
