To Richard Waters:
Drive it! You can "what if" yourself to death on these things and
never have any fun. Sounds like your lady has had first class
maintenance and one of the reasons why you've performed this level of
maintenance is for longevity.

Steve,
Yes I want to have fun and not worry about the "what ifs"
too much. It seems every trip I take in the GMC I wonder
what will break. The small stuff I can handle OK, but to
blow an engine, well that would spoil your day.

I think if any engine will go the distance, I feel mine will. It's
been used, but in a pampered fashion and taken care of.

My GMC should live in San Diego, the winters here probably don't
do much to add to its longevity .

My 1977 Palm Beach has over 197,000 miles on the original engine. Oil
consumption? About 1500 miles/qt.

Good show! That's the 403 too and that's not supposed to
be as robust as the 455 I hear.
